Trump to defy climate alarmist "global carbon tax" on ships | Eastern NC Now

standing up for common sense and for America against climate loons

ENCNow

An organization representing nations involved in the shipping business, the International Maritime Organization, has agreed to impose a "global carbon tax" on all merchant shipping.  Under President Trump, the United States refused to participate in the meeting and said it would not comply with any such "tax".  The International Maritime Organization is an agency of the globalist United Nations.

Instead of sending representatives to the meeting of the UN agency, President Trump sent a letter in which he told them, "we must be clear that the US rejects any and all efforts to impose economic measures against its ships based on GHG emissions or fuel choice."  Trump continued, "Should such a blatantly unfair measure go forward,  our government will consider reciprocal measures so as to offset any fees charged to US ships and compensate the American people for any other economic harm from any adopted GHG control measures."

The International Maritime Agency would control all money brought in by this "tax". This is a very slippery slope of globalist "worldwide" taxes.  Hooray for President Trump in standing up against it.

This power grab by a rogue UN agency must be stopped. UN agencies have no power to tax anyone for anything. The US must immediately withdraw from this specific agency, and we should withhold a significant part of our UN dues from them, say 50%, until this stops.

The UN or any of its agencies being able to impose "taxes" is a horrible precedent and must be stopped. This is globalist nonsense. The US needs to withdraw its membership from this UN organization and urge other countries to do so. We also need to take a chainsaw to our UN contributions over this travesty.
