Three Beaufort County Republicans were elected Saturday to the state executive committee of the NC Republican Party as at-large members. The election occurred at the 3rd Congressional District Republican convention held at Beaufort County Community College.  They will also represent the county on the 3rd District Republican executive committee.

Elected were Janet Knight, Joe Knox, and Steve Rader, all of whom have served in that capacity previously.  Knight has served one term, Knox three, and Rader many terms.  Knight was also recently elected as second vice chairwoman of the Beaufort County Republican Party.

Also representing Beaufort County on the state GOP executive committee by virtue of their offices will be Representative Keith Kidwell, county GOP chairwoman Carolyn Garris, and first vice chairwoman Diane Ahearn.

The state executive committee is the governing body of the North Carolina Republicans Party.

The district convention elected Michelle Nix of Carteret County as district chairwoman to replace retiring chairman Dave Wickersham of Pamlico County.
