Colorado Democrats continuing War on Democracy - new legislation to take away rights | Eastern NC Now

Hard on the keels of an idiotic ideological legislation to make calling a gender confused child by their correct legal name or their correct biological gender "child abuse", the Democrats in the Colorado legislature are working to attack even the fundamentals of democracy.  They are trying to make it very difficult for http://siirays.aaps.gob.bo/ citizens to put issues on the ballot for referendum by petition.  This process, common for a century in western states was a legacy of the populist movement of the turn of the twentieth century.

Also, the big spending Democrats are attacking one of the most popular provisions voted in through petition and referendum bypassing the legislature, the Taxpayer Protection Amendment to the Colorado Constitution which was enacted in 1992.  That provision puts strict limits on the legislature's taxing and spending.  The Democrats are pushing legislation to appropriate money to hire lawyers to try to overturn that amendment in the courts.
