poll: Americans say country going in right direction under Trump | Eastern NC Now

highest "right direction" number in 20 years

ENCNow

A new poll by Rasmussen, historically one of the more accurate pollsters, finds that Americans under Trump say the country is going in the right direction.  In the last twenty years, this is only the second time that more Americans said the country was going in the  right direction instead of the wrong direction.  It is also the biggest "right direction" margin in twenty years.

Under Biden, in contrast, the "right direction" numbers were very low, generally in the 20%-30% range.

Rasmussen found that 49% of Americans say the country is going in the right direction compared to 46% who say it is going in the wrong direction, a positive margin of 3 points.  The only other time in the last 20 years there was a positive margin on this question, it was only by one point, 48 to 47.

Among black Americans, 45% said the country was going in the right direction.  The figure among Independents was 47%.
