Poland's Constitutional Court strikes down European Union climate laws as unconstitutional | Eastern North Carolina Now

a blow against climate alarmism and for national sovereignty

ENCNow

Poland's Constitutional Court has struck a blow against climate alarmism and for national sovereignty.  It ruled that the European Union's climate laws and particularly its "Green Deal" violated Poland's Constitution and its national sovereignty and are void in Poland. It noted that in the treaties creating the European Union, climate and national energy policy were not among those areas assigned to the EU.

Poland's conservative President-Elect Karol Nawrocki welcomed the court's landmark ruling, saying it would cut electric rates in Poland by 33%.  Nawrocki had already called for holding a national referendum on withdrawing from the EU Green Deal, and voiced support for more use of coal, of which Poland has large reserves.  Poland's farmers have also been chaffing under EU climate policies which they refer to as "climate communism".

Poland's globalist pro-EU Prime Minister Donald Tusk is expected to try to get around this court ruling.  His government has been noted for openly defying court rulings they don't like.  If he does, however, it may cause his shaky coalition to unravel, because he depends on the votes in Parliament from the rural conservatives of the Polish Peoples Party and the strident populist nationalist Confederation Liberty and Independence which is very eurosceptic.  For many reasons, those two parties are a better fit with Poland's largest party, the populist nationalist anti-immigration Law and Justice Party, and the three together would have a majority in Parliament.

Law and Justice member of parliament Sebastian Kaleta took to social media to praise the ruling for "hundreds of billions in savings for the Polish economy."

Good for the Polish court! Those EU climate alarmist laws give expensive and unreliable electricity. They were responsible for the recent nationwide blackouts in Spain and Portugal, as well as huge electric rate increases all over Europe. What North Carolina should be concerned about is that the actions of RINOs Phil Berger and Tim Moore in passing NC's own Green New Deal, HB951, North Carolinians will be popped harder for this nonsense than Europeans.
