Marist poll finds voters approve more of congressional GOP than congresional Dems | Eastern NC Now

In a positive sign for Republicans for the 2026 midterm elections, the Marist poll has found voters view the work of Congressional Republicans more favorably than that of congressional Democrats.  The Marist poll tends, if anything, to tilt more to the Democrats, so this is a particularly good sign from this poll.

The poll found that 27% of voters approved of how the Democrats in congress were performing in office, compared to 36% who approved of how Republicans in congress were performing.  This is a reversal of poll results on the same question in 2024 when 39% of voters approved of the work of Congressional Democrats but only 26% approved of the work of congressional Republicans.
