    Helen Brown Cox Baynor, 96, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 28, 1929, she was the oldest daughter of the late Letha and Merton Cox, Sr. Helen was a devoted mother, loving grandma, and adoring Gigi, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

    A celebration of her life will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday July 11, 2025, at Long Acre Chapel Christian Church officiated by Scott Askew. Pallbearers will be Brice Williams, Jr., Trey Baynor, Doug Bissette, Casey Glancy, Riley Williams, Tanner Williams, Keegan Bissette and Jack Baynor.

    The family will receive friends Friday, following the service, at the church fellowship hall.

    Helen lived a life filled with purpose, love, and resilience. She had a passion for cooking, a love for farming, and an unwavering devotion to her family. In 1988, she proudly founded Baynor Trucking, reflecting her strength, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit.

    Helen was a devoted member of Long Acre Chapel Christian Church, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. As the church's oldest living member, she held a special place in the hearts of the congregation.

    Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Baynor, Sr. and daughter, Constance "Connie" Faye Baynor. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Barron and Peggy Herring, her brothers, Merton and Elmer Cox. Her brothers-in-law, Harley and Wayne Baynor.

    Helen is survived by her children, Susan Williams (Brice) and Earl Baynor, Jr. (Jacque) all of the Long Acre community, her adopted son, John Baynor (Tammy) of Selma; sister, Margaret Amy of Bath; and brother, Howard Cox (Edie) of Kennesaw, Georgia. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Junior Baynor (Tomasina) of Belhaven.

    Helen was a devoted grandmother to Brice Williams, Jr. (Abby) of Greenville, Kimberly Williams Bissette (Doug) of Long Acre, Brittney Baynor Glancy (Casey) of Yeatesville, and Trey Baynor (Jessica) of Long Acre. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Riley and Tanner Williams, Keegan Bissette, Maddie and Beckett Glancy, and Jack, Anna Claire, and Cole Baynor.

    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Glenda Yoder, Alisia Martin, and Wanda Blount for the loving care and compassion they provided over the past year. Your kindness, dedication, and gentle presence brought comfort and peace during a time when it was needed most. We are forever grateful for the way you cared for her with such tenderness and grace.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Long Acre Chapel Christian Church, 21861 Hwy 32 N, Plymouth, NC 27962.

    Helen's legacy is one of strength, kindness, and an enduring love for her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
