Wall Street Journal poll finds Democrat favorability hits 35 year low | Eastern NC Now

In the latest ominous sign for Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections, a new poll by the Wall Street Journal finds that voter favorability toward the Democrat Party has hit a 35 year low.  It also finds that voters trust Republicans on most issues.  Overall, 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the Democrat Party, while only 8% hold a very favorable view of them.

"The Democrat brand is so bad that they do not even have the credibility to be a critic of Trump or the Republican Party," declared Democrat pollster John Anzalone, who helped conduct the poll, "Until  they reconnect with real voters and working people on who they're for and what their economic message is, they are going to have problems."

This poll confirms the findings of the recent Quinnipiac poll which found Democrat favorability the lowest it had ever registered for a political party.
