Why are congressional RINOs slow walking Trump appointments? | Eastern North Carolina Now

. . . and why is Greg Murphy vocally supporting that scheme?

ENCNow

There are many positions in federal government that require confirmation by the Senate, and under John Thune's GOP senate leadership they are going at a snail's pace, hamstringing President Trump in trying to accomplish policy objectives.  Now Thune is sending the Senate on a month long August recess at a time they have critical work to do on those appointments.  Trump has asked Thune to have the Senate stay and do their job, but he is sending them on vacation anyway.

We are already seeing how the Democrats are using the lack of confirmations against Republicans.  The attempted judicial coup against interim NJ US Attorney Alina Habba is one example, as the Senate had not bothered to confirm her yet.

To make matters worse, Thune is now teaming up with House Speaker Mike Johnson to block Trump from being able to make "recess appointments", something the Constitution allows a president to do when Congress is in recess as they will be in August.  Thune and Johnson have set up a charade of pro-forma sessions where Congress is technically called into session during the recess even though no one is there.  That tactic is done for one purpose and one purpose only, to block a president from making recess appointments.

Blocking recess appointments is something commonly done when one party controlls the presidency and the other controls Congress, but this is the first time this song and dance has been performed when the same party controls both.  This is a massively anti-Trump move by the RINOs controlling Congress.

And to make matters worse?  The local "Republican" Congressman Greg Murphy, known as "Medicaid Murphy" when he was in the legislature, is publicly supporting this move by the RINO leadership against Trump.

One very positive sign is that Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has announced that he is willing to call his committee to meet during the August recess to move Trump judicial nominees forward.  These nomineess as judges cannot be appointed by recess appointment, and Democrats are trying to hamstring them, too.

What is very clear?  We need new Senate leadership.  Thune is a treacherous POS. We need new House leadership.  Johnson is undermining Trump.  We need a new 3rd District congressman.  Murphy is playing RINO Deep State games in DC.

Good for Grassley! We need more decent common sense judges to counteract those hyper partisan leftwing radical judges appointed by Obama and by Biden's autopen. Congress needs to declare the Biden autopen judicial appointments void and the seats vacant, so decent judges can fill them instead of those crooks.

Anyone who has been in a House or Senate office more than 4 years has accumulated some of accommodations of the deep state. Accepting the percs of the deep state is like being stuck to the tar baby. It is impossible to get loose and if you do you are tarred.

Trump, with the passage of the big beautiful bill, and threatening to prosecute Obama and Hillary has cut deeply into government. He is now a real threat to the deep state.

I expect to see more strange behavior from these people.

It is a simple up or down vote on nominees.

Mr. Trump should get every nominee he desires at this point; he deserves all of what he needs.

Trump's success is scaring those with deep ties to the "Deep State". Some of these are Closet "Deep Staters". Most of them have to be careful. Remember the Scripture, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone".
