Two federal appellate courts uphold state laws against child genital mutilation | Eastern NC Now

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals is the latest federal court to uphold a state law banning child genital mutilation or what some call "transing kids" in an 8 to 2 ruling on Arkansas' state law on the subject.  It shot down the argument that parents had "a deeply rooted right" to "trans" their kids.

This ruling comes a week after the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Oklahoma's law banning child genital mutilation.   On Tennessee's law banning child sex change operations and drugs, the US Supreme Court has already weighed in, upholding the law.

North Carolina is one of the states that has passed a similar law protecting our children.
