poll: 3 most popular politicians in France are all from anti-immigration right | Eastern NC Now

good sign for next French election

ENCNow

Polls have been showing France's populist nationalist anti-immigration right National Rally poised to win the next French election.  Now a new poll shows France's three most popular individual politicians come from the anti-immigration populist right.  The poll was conducted by the British polling firm YouGov for the liberal HuffPost.

France's most popular politician is Jordan Bardella, the 32-year old president of the National Rally and a member of the European Parliament, with 42% support.  The second most popular politician is Marine Le Pen, the expected National Rally nominee for president in the next election, with 39% support.  In third place is Le Pen's neice and former member of parliament Marion Marechal, who left the National Rally to found her own movement but is allied to the National Rally for the next election, with 36%.

Two allies of centrist President Macron ranked fourth and fifth with 32% and 30%, with a Social Democrat leader sixth at 27%.  The poll allowed participants to select more than one favored candidate.

Meanwhile, in next door Germany, in local elections in its most populous state, North Rhein - Westphalia, the anti-immigration populist Alternativ fur Deutschland tripled its vote, while the vote for the traditional conservative CDU fell slightly, and the vote for the center-left Social Democrats and leftwing Green Party both declined significantly.

And in the UK, a top Conservative member of parliament who was one of the leading forces on the party's right, has switched his party affiliation to the anti-immigration populist nationalist Reform Party.  Polls give the Reform Party a 15 point lead over their nearest competitor for the next parliamentary election and project a 100 seat majority over all other parties combined.

The French establishment has been trying to use lawfare to disqualify LePen from running for president, but that would put Bardella in as a replacement, and he seems to be even more popular than LePen.  They may have outsmarted themselves on that power play.

Europe is in even more dire straights from the illegal alien invasion than the US, so it is great to see people waking up. If they are not able to turn things around soon, it may be too late for some European countries.

It is interesting to see that nobody from the tradition right, the Gaullist party Les Republicains, is on this list. They are fading as support moves to the National Rally. There is also a rival anti-immigration party, Eric Zemmour's Reconquest Party
