Baltimore County, MD welcomes ICE while Illinois tries to ban iCE from courthouses | Eastern NC Now

In a welcome development, Baltimore County, Maryland has been removed from the list of sanctuary counties for illegal aliens.  The Democrat run county government has now signed a cooperation agreement with ICE on enforcement of immigration laws in the city, defying their state government's sanctuary state policy.  County officials will now work with ICE on deporting illegal aliens found in the county.

Meanwhile, the sanctuary state of Illinois has doubled down on trying to defy federal law enforcement.  Their legislature has passed a bill, that even one of its chief sponsors admits is of doubtful Constitutionality, to ban ICE from arresting illegal aliens in courthouses or within 1,000 feet of a courthouse.  Rabidly leftwing Governor Pritzker has signed it into law.  When the priority target for deportation is criminal illegal aliens, where better to find them than at a courthouse?  Why do Democrats want to keep and protect illegal aliens who have committed other crimes in their city or state?  They just pose a threat of committing more crimes against citizens.

The bill purports to allow civil lawsuits for damages against individual federal law enforcement personnel who violate its restrictions.  Maybe those who passed this bill should consider whether they themselves have now violated federal criminal laws on Obstruction of Justice or Harboring Illegal Aliens.
