US House passes bill to criminalize child sex change surgeries and drugs | Eastern NC Now
bill makes it a Class C federal felony
The United States House of Representatives has passed legislation to criminalize child gender reassignment surgery and drugs, making those administering such drugs or engaging in such surgery subject to federal criminal prosecution for a Class C felony. The bill now goes to the Senate.
Over half of US states already ban child sex change surgeries. Some also prohibit going out of state for such surgery.
Four Democrats crossed party lines to vote for the bill, including Democrat Don Davis who represents Beaufort County in Congress.

DHHS is also working on rules to prohibit gender transition surgeries and drugs for minors. A detransitioner who is currently sued doctors over the procedures performed on her spoke to Congress:

One wonders if Don Davis was just trying to pander to having to run in a more conservative district, or whether his vote reflects that homosexuality and transgenderism are very unpopular in the black community. Buttigieg polls very poorly among black Democrats for that reason. Indeed one recent poll even found that Buttigieg was less popular among black Democrats voters than a leader of the KKK.
