Sen. Rand Paul introduces bill to stop welfare payments to refugees | Eastern NC Now

would turn them over to private charities

ENCNow

The self-styled asylum seekers, illegal aliens who want to be designated as refugees, are a huge drain on welfare around the world.  In Germany, 61% of the nation's welfare payments are to "asylum seekers".  In the US, 81% of Somali refugees are on welfare, even though most are now citizens.

Under present US law, anyone who achieves refugee status gets an immediate entitlement to welfare.  Many of these deadbeats never get off of the "free money".  In contrast, those who go through the legal immigration process have to provide agreements from American citizens that they will provide the needs of the immigrant if they are not able to do so themselves, and are statutorily made not eligible for most welfare programs.

Senator Rand Paul's bill would change that and make refugees ineligible for government welfare programs, and turn that responsibility over to private charity.

Meanwhile, illegal alien deadbeats are costing Texas hospitals over a billion dollars a year. These losses are transferred to paying patients, raising both hospital bills and insurance premiums.
