Press Release:

The first group of new hires at idX Impressions in Washington has completed classes through a customized training program under the direction of Beaufort County Community College.

The training is a result of a plan by idX Impressions to expand its facility and bring 159 new jobs to Washington during the next three years. BCCC obtained $166,419 in funds to train new and existing employees and establish a program to certify the skills of those new employees. The company builds store fixtures for companies across the globe.

Its customer list includes leading retailers, banks and telecom companies. BCCC, along with N.C. Works Center and the Division of Workforce Solutions, developed a procedure for screening potential idX employees that included completion of a Career Readiness Certification, among other workplace readiness tests, according to Lauren Spruill, Customized Training director at BCCC.

A CRC lets an employer know the person with the CRC has the necessary literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills to be sufficient for the job. "BCCC believes these new hires are great fits for the job and the new hiring process is working well," said Spruill.
