Tillis seems about to betray us on election integrity, the SAVE America Act | Eastern NC Now

Polling shows that over 80% of Americans support the SAVE America Act, a bill to require photo voter ID to vote, prove US citizenship to register to vote, and limit mail-in voting.  Check Schumer rants that it is "Jim Crow 2.0".

Unfortunately, a handful of leftwing "Republicans" are siding with Schumer and opposing the SAVE America act.  "China Mitch" McConnell, with a long record of selling out to Democrats is one.  Alaska's leftie Lisa Murkowski is another.  However, we have another right here in North Carolina in "Traitor Thom" Tillis.

Tillis says he is a "NO" on the SAVE America Act unless he can preserve the fillibuster.

The supporters of the SAVE America Act are not trying to end the filibuster, just go back to requiting a "standing filibuster" as was done throughout American history until recently, where mounting a filibuster meant having the senators on your side have to stand and talk until they ran out of time and a vote could be had.  McConnell moved to a "virtual filibuster" where legislation that lacked 60 votes was simply not considered.

Passing th3e SAVE America Act can be done by requiring a talking filibuster. The Democrats might waste a month of senate time mounting their filibuster, but eventually it would come to a vote and pass.  Tillis cares more about keeping the virtual filibuster than he does passing legislation crucial to the integrity of American elections.
