State Board of Elections settles with RNC

ENCNow

Election integrity investigators have compared voter rolls with lists of people who when called for jury duty said they were not citizens and found many of them who told the courts they were not citizens were shown to be registered to vote.  Many of them were shown to have actully voted.  NC election officials had refused to take any action on the problem, and the Republican National Committee and NC Republican Party sued.

Now the NC Board of Elections and the Republicans have reached a settlement of the lawsuit that will establish a procedure to remove these noncitizens from the voting rolls and allow action against them when they vote.  The settlement still must be approved by a superior court judge.

Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee has filed another lawsuit, this time in Virginia to overturn a practice put in place by Democrats that allows people who were botn outside the United States and have never lived in Virginia to register and vote in Virginia.
