governor has endorsed and is expected to sign

ENCNow

, Both houses of the Mississippi legislature have passed a bill that makes illegal immigration a state crime.  Governor Tate Reeves has endorsed the bill and is expected to sign it into law.

The bill makes illegal immigration a misdemeanor with a mandatory minimum sentence of six months, but with additional factors could be charged as a felony.  It requires cooperation by all law enforcement in the state with ICE and it requires cirizenship verification on voter registrations.  It allows state courts to order deportation, and it authorizes using bounty hunters in locating and capturing illegal aliens.
