materials from indicted radical left SPLC found in public school curriculum in 42 states | Eastern NC Now

are they in Beaufort County schools?

ENCNow

Leftwing radicalism has a lot of ways of getting into our schools.  An investigation by the parents organization Defending Education has found materials from the far left and recently criminally indicted Southern Poverty Law Center in public school curriculums in 42 states.

The Southern Poverty Law Center made recent news when it and some of its leaders were indicted for felonies in federal court for money laundering, fraud, and false reporting to federal agencies.  The indictments stemmed from the discovery that the SPLC was making large financial contributions to KKK, Nazi, and white supremist organizations, groups it claims to oppose.

This is hardly the SPLC's first brush with radicalism.  A couple of years ago, one of its attorneys was indicted in Georgia for Domestic Terrorism, stemming from his involvement in an attack on the police.  Its hate-filled internet presence had also radicalized a lefty activist to take a gun and storm the offices of a major Christian organization in Washington, DC to try to shoot some of its leaders.

So why would any thinking school system ever want the materials from this radical organization as part of its curriculum?  Perhaps because they are DEI and "social justice:" fanatics.   In their school materials they openly oppose tolerance saying "tolerance is not justice."

With the lack of an official Social Studies curriculum in Beaufort County Schools for quite a few years, one hopes that none of our teachers have brought this mess into classrooms.
