Florida bans illegal aliens from admission to state colleges and universities | Eastern NC Now

Florida's state Board of Education has voted to ban illegal aliens from being admitted to Florida state colleges and universities as well as adult education programs.  The vote was 6 to 1.  This is the latest in a series of moves by the state of Florida to combat illegal immigration.

Last year, the Board of Education denied access to in-state tuition for DACA illegal aliens.  These are illegal aliens who claim to have been brought into the country as children, but are not required to prove that claim.  Other illegal aliens had previously been denied in-state tuition.  Now they cannot be admitted at all, at any tuition rate.

Florida has also passed a law to make the presence in the state of an illegal alien a state crime, although that law is being challenged in court.  Federal courts have recently put their stamp of approval on similar laws in Texas and Tennessee.

In our own county, Beaufort County Community College has an administration with a record of pandering to illegal aliens.  When the left=leaning members of the county commission approved a plan like that proposed by Bernie Sanders of free tuition at the community college, it was unclear if that means that Beaufort County taxpayers are paying tuition for illegal aliens to attend.
