but Newsome says it is "Trump retaliation"
California Governor Gavin Newsome has loudly whined about the ongoing federal criminal probe of Newsome and his wife, claiming it was "political retaliation" by the Trump administration. In fact, the criminal probe of Newsome was initiated during the Biden administration.
The New York Post is now reporting that the Biden FBI infiltrated Newsome's inner circle by sending in a mole wearing a wire to record conversation. Democrat activist Alexis Podesta wore the wire for the FBI going back to June 2024.
The investigation led to guilty pleas to two felonies by Newsome's former Chief of Staff last month. Some speculate that she may roll on Newsome and turn government witness to mitigate her own sentence. The FBI is continuing to follow its leads on Newsome, his wife, and perhaps other of his associates.
