Nor’easter Bearing Down on Eastern North Carolina, Revised - November 27, 2013 | Eastern NC Now

We should continue to use caution when traveling as we could receive another one-half inch of rain and many culverts are plugged or flow is reduced and standing water can cause hydroplaning in vehicles.

News release: (Afternoon 112613)

    Good Morning:

So far, So Good! I have attached this morning’s weather update on the Nor’easter moving through our area. We have some reported trees across the roads and some standing water. We have wind gust overnight as high as 55mph, but we currently have no reports of structure damage from within Beaufort County.

We should continue to use caution when traveling as we could receive another one-half inch of rain and many culverts are plugged or flow is reduced and standing water can cause hydroplaning in vehicles. Remember the berm of the road is saturated at this point so use caution if you drift onto a grass berm in your travels as overcorrecting is a possibility which could result in rollovers.

Remember your outdoor pets could be wet and when the wind chill values get down into the twenties they could suffer from hypothermia and perish.

Safe travels on this Thanksgiving! May God Bless each of you and your families on this truly American Holiday. Please include our troops in your prayers, as they ensure we can enjoy our Thanksgiving by keeping freedom alive.

Latest Governing Beaufort County

The city council has only made two official acts as of February 16, 2026
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Government and its bureaucracy are not perfect, and never has been in this self-governed society, here at the local level, at our state level, and at our federal level, therefore, it is incumbent upon all elected politicians to seek a comfortable level of representation for our constituents.
Beaufort County is implementing a new emergency alert system. All residents are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts via phone and email.

Has the local government acted responsibly and transparently?
Beaufort County Commissioners meet, and work by a majority vote to do the business of those constituents they purport to represent.
Waste, fraud, abuse and incompetence continue to govern county school budgets and decision making.

However, if one believes that Beaufort County government is in full command of the issues of our times, here locally, one might need to steel their resolve for a more perfect understanding of the intellect possessed by the Center-Left /Left Coalition.
To borrow a big phrase from this salient plan originating at the federal level, under President Trump's watchful eye, whose time has finally arrived, even here in the mispent realm of Beaufort County government(s).
We must vet, and elect those who will actually represent the people or we will be stuck with the same mess we have now.
