Federal court strikes down Illinois law giving in-state tuition to illegal aliens at colleges | Eastern NC Now
says in-state tuition for illegal aliens is illegal under federal immigration law
A federal district court judge in Illinois has struck down several Illinois state laws that gave in-state college tuition to illegal aliens, and made illegal aliens eligible for college financial aid. In a lawsuit brought by the US Justice Departmentf Civil Rights Division, the court ruled that federal immigration law preempted the ability of states to grant these favors to illegal aliens. The Justice Department argued that it was unfair to American citizens in other states for a state to give preference to illegal aliens over them.
This ruling comes just weeks after the 5th Circuit US Court of Appeals ruled that in-state tuition for illegal aliens is illegal under federal immigration law.
Florida has gone further, with its state education board voting overwhelmingly to deny admission to illegal aliens in Florida state universities.no matter how much tuition they pay.
It would appear that the policies of Beaufort County Community College on illegal alien students is in violation of federal immigration law.

Is the county commission providing free tuition for illegal aliens? If so, that is even worse than giving them in-state tuition rates.

Even worse is that the four big spender liberals on our county commission - Randy Walker, Frankie Waters, Jerry Langley, and Ed Booth - are pouring county taxpayer money into Bernie Sanders scheme of free college tuition, so even more tax money might be going to illegal aliens, if our ultra liberal administration at BCCC is letting them into that program, which they probably are.
Conservatives need to get to the bottom of whether our tax money is being used to subsidise illegal aliens, and if so what we need to do to stop it.
