North Carolina law is well written to guarantee safeguards on ballot integrity for mail-in ballots. Democrats do not like that and want to see ballots which fail to measure up to those safeguards counted anyway. A national commission on improving our elections headed by former Democrat President Jimmy Carter reported that mail-in ballots are the biggest source of fraud in our elections and should therefore be minimized.
Democrat-aligned groups represented by partisan Democrat lawyers brought a lawsuit in federal district court for the middle district of North Carolina seeking to toss out those safeguards for the 2026 election. Fortunately, it came before a judge who although a Democrat had enough integrity to dismiss this effort to monkey with our elections.
