Syngenta and Smithfield — Both Chinese-Owned — Spent $24 Million to Buy U.S. Food, Farm and Pesticide Policies | Eastern NC Now

Policies bought and paid for by Chinese owned companies

ENCNow

Two Chinese-owned agribusiness giants spent more than $24 million lobbying the federal government and nearly $2.5 million on political contributions while pushing industry-friendly policies on pesticides, food safety and American farmland, according to a new report. The findings raise alarms for President Donald Trump’s MAHA agenda, which promised to address environmental toxins and other contributors to chronic disease among American children.

Lets look a little closer to home, where a pesticide company that makes Round-Up dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into our state house district to buy a seat for one of their allies, Darren Armstrong, who has close business ties to that same out of state chemical company. That all came in through dark money groups, so it is hard to tell who exactly now owns our state house seat. We will soon have a legislator who is bought and paid for by the special interests.
