On his TV show "Real Time", liberal pundit Bill Maher has put the blame on schools not teaching socialism's real record for the current rise of socialism among young voters. He also blamed the teachers unions for the way this is slanted. He called the rise of socialism "an indictment of the schools".
Most of this comes down to shifts in the Social Studies (history) curriculum. Pushing these farther left has come under fire in many states, including North Carolina, where Democrat appointees on the state Board of Education adopted very "woke" state standards in social studies a few years ago. Alaska recently adopted a social studies curriculum for its schools that does not even mention George Washington or Abraham Lincoln.
