Just this past weekend, December 12, 2015, I experienced a fine local production of the Peter Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, by the Greenville, North Carolina based NC Academy of Dance Arts / Dance Arts Theatre, featuring guest performers from the New York Ballet, and the Washington Ballet intermingled.

We (just Lynn and I) went to Durham for the Nutcracker at the DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) - 121419. We were given free tickets for some very good seats near the front, in the middle for this glorious, most seasonal ballet.
