Rino Hunter, Good question and good point!
Are the identities of the volunteer committee membership also secretly held by the CITY?
And can we lobby these members to share city issues from our own knowledge and experience? How do we contact them?
Where did the idea for these committees come from? I suspect it came from the Planning Dept, where Perreault also serves on the Planning Board.
Inquiring minds want to know.

The attempt to create a consolidated political machine is something to consider. It would explain a lot of the puzzles. Knowing history we know that a political machine will even side with mobsters if it means winning.
Thinking back, I see Kidwell and Garris calling for the resignations of Sadler and Stacey Davis. It was actually a statement from a police officer at a Public hearing, that made the defeat of Sadler by Brabo possible.
Then around that time, the City manager demotes the police chief. (Its why we dont have one today.) But that Chief didnt complain, and as a matter of fact, manager Russell then referred to him as a "team player." Others have referred to city employees as team players. Couldnt "team player" be another name for political machine member?

(I also recall the firing of Rorie due to convenient public statements from police.) What a Team!

Under the approval of the City Govt, and head spokesman Perreault, Washington has given a subtle authority to several Citizen committees to lobby the City to take certain actions. As these committees are guided by the City from the start, all their lobbying will be what the City already WANTS...without the Govt taking the blame for it. As they are useful idiots, it will be another shadow govt posing as grassroots. Prove me wrong.

BTW, if Sadler had the power ya'll think he does, then the Metropolitan Homeless Shelter would have been approved at this week's Board of Adjustment meeting.

They sometimes say the problem is not corruption, but is negligence & sloppiness manifesting a bad City Govt.
At the same City meeting I was watchin, Rorie said City code was NOT being enforced equally. He appeared to say that th employees were told if they werent going to do th job then they werent needed here. Now I like this kind of talk. BUT was this why he was fired? Did the Bureaucracy fight back? Horton thinks the Council's job is to protect the employees first. Davis replied their job is to serve Citizens FIRST.
So now my question is WHY was Rorie fired? We werent told th facts. And it happened mighty fast. It seems no one but Tyrie & maybe Horton knew it was coming. But in 1 evening, he was fired. BTW, I dont recall Tyre being so vocally "opinionated" or trying to micro-manage while Sadler was Mayor. The status quo seemed 2b just fine w hm back then.
Let this b a lesson. Elected ppl, arent smarter than WeThePpl.
Often they were just at th right place at th right time.

Once the fog from you eyes has been lifted, and you can acknowledge that people in high places will lie, deceive, manipulate, you can never go back again.

The fact is We The People are being treated (by Everyone) like cud-chewing herd animals with checkbooks. Everyone is lying to get what they WANT and so we lose against them everyday. However once your eyes,ears, and mind accept this, then its easy to know it when you see it. One can hear and see every subtle manipulation from "the experts."
Long ago wise pple have learned that there is "no honor" among thieves. Reagan said Trust but Verify. But th truth is we must be suspicious & verify. Most humans are polite & dont want to say to a fellow professional that we dont think your are being truthful, so as always they get to continue being deceptive. Its causes decay in society.
By the Way why is th audio so bad at th Commissioner meetings. Sometimes i think "they" dont want us to hear.

I dont reveal my name bec we live surrounded by corrupt govt officials & their citizen useful idiots who will seek revenge against anyone who exposes & opposes them. There is so much corruption & sloppy govt, one hardly knows where to begin. Its everywhere. There is no justice. We could hire a corrupt attorney who will take your $$ & sabotage u at same time, while kissing up to officials who they fear. Doesnt "Downtown Takeover" sound dangerously militaristic? I think cities are whistling pass the graveyard, because I believe these lawless "takeover's" are indoctrination and training for a revolution. These teens probably dont know it, but I suspect that there are adults who are initiating these events being advertised on social media for Washington, Plymouth and Greenville,NC. Should a curfew be established here too? Dont hold your breath for the Mayor to do Anything!

The experienced powerplayers always make sure that no matter how many new ppl join an organization, the secret committee will always hold the power.
Many years ago a call went out for volunteers to come together to promote good things for the schools & students. After the introduction, they asked for volunteers to go sit at the table that best suited their personal goals. We did that. Shortly after a young woman with one of the elite surnames of the town came and sat with us, saying her name, and that she would be our chairman. I said "Hold on, dont we vote for our chairman?" She looked stunned and stated she was assigned to this position and knew nothing more. Sooo she was a puppet too. We had our meeting, but I didnt come back.
It appears this is the way the local GOP Party functions as well. Its full of "useful idiots" on the one hand and "powerbrokers" on the other. One then has to wonder, WHO are the local "powerbrokers" working for... those who are bosses above them?

IMHO the people of Washington have been asleep for decades, maybe even a century.
I think "stirring the turd" is waking people up. They are opening their eyes and seeing that this isnt the 1950s any longer. General politians, bureaurcrats, and low-lifes in general have a quiet motto..."I've got to get mine." Yeah I saw that on a T shirt a couple decades back. There appears to be a sloppiness in life AND Govt the world over. Its how we end up with corruption and high taxes.
I know Govt monthly meetings can be boring as C-span, but WeThePeople must make it a part of our life, that we read the agenda, watch the meetings & keep a watch on all the Depts & Committees of the city. Remember "term limits?" We have a man who has been on a powerful city Board for 35 yrs. How does one do that? I think that they prove they are a "government team player." They dont rock the boat, they go along with what the Dept heads want. Let's Be observant.
