Van Zant. You have hit the nail on the head on the county commission race. We have two seats to fill, however, and only one vote with this Chinese voting system, so getting the best two in may be problematic. My family with our one vote will be voting Deatherage.

What is important is where a candidate stands on important policy issues like taxes and spending, not their background in what has become an internal local GOP organization circus.
Edwards refusal to make commitments on issues after making a comment that sounds conservative reminds me of the worst establishment hacks we have seen in the party from the national to th local level. He is pulling the wool over our eyes. Having been "vetted" by Frankie Waters before he filed tells you all you need to know about him.

There was also a a teacher at Washington High School fired for promoting transgenderism in his classroom, but he is not the only teacher to have done that or is doing that.

The gender unicorn was passed out to a class of high school students at the Early College High school, not a class of college students.

Proseletyzing for the woke agenda is as bad as grading on it.

ER is the worst part of the whole medical system for inflation by illegal aliens, because it is the place most illegal alien freeloaders mooch their "free" medical care. Hospitals are required by law to serve them (That should change), and they don't pay their bills. To break even, hospitals move the costs of serving deadbeat illegal aliens onto the bills of paying patients and their insurance companies.

The more illegal alien freeloaders who invade our country, the more it is going to drive up medical bills and medical insurance premiums.

Van Zant: It will get real serious, real soon if these "Drive by 'Republicans'" mess with me by employing any premeditated group of arranged lies simply because they cannot take me, and what and whom I represent, out in the general election.

Additionally, another tidbit I gathered last night was this grand irony of self-inflicted ignorance: "We have 5 republicans on the county commission, yet we can't cut wasteful spending and taxes, so how effective has Deatherage been all these years?"

This could also be one of sophistic statements, born out of the incredible guile that is the RINO, who is well misplaced from their natural Democratic Socialist environs, and yet are controlling part of a very corrupt Beaufort County GOP.

The answer is simple: The Beaufort County GOP are mostly responsible for: 'having 5 republicans on the county commission, who will not cut wasteful spending and taxes."

That is the greatest irony of insult to every Beaufort County Republican that they wrongly purport to represent.

Why?

They coddle, support and lend succour to every RINO Beaufort County Commissioner, and to the detriment of what few Conservatives are elected (without their help), who aspire to, and, at a minimum, represent the party platform of espousing a Limited Government as was intended by our Founders.

If conservatism is important, the breakdown of the Beaufort County Commission race seems to go like this:
1. Deatherage
2. Woolard
3. Edwards
4. Booth
How that might break down in a limited voting system election is anybody's guess. The Deatherage conservative record speaks for itself.

I don't understand everything about this Victory Committee. Steve Rader seems to be the only member of that committee on good graces with most all of the factions of the Republican Party in Beaufort County. He's probably made more of an effort in that regard than anyone that I know of. I suppose the only exception would be the faction led by liberals like Carolyn and Randy Walker. These two have been more and more active in school board races outside of their own district in recent years working against conservative candidates every time.

I suppose the takeaway here is beware some of these "Republicans" that have recently switched over from the Democrat Party. But it's not only that. Beware some of the recently arrived in town "Republicans" also. Some of them seem to despise conservatives too - especially native conservatives. Under present day leadership beware of the local Republican Party in general. They are openly hostile to conservatives.

Dealing with the Republican Party is getting more and more like walking through a minefield. That's true not only locally but also statewide and nationally too. The local party here is the most flagrantly hostile local party to conservatives that I'm aware of.

To all real Conservatives here in Beaufort County: It was related to me tonight that the core of the what remains of the Beaufort County GOP will initiate a whisper campaign attacking my character for the benefit of their preferred candidates.

This will be a difficult task since: I have NO arrests other than an infrequent traffic infraction; no bankruptcies, nor lawsuits that I did not prevail in; A marriage for nearly 48 1/2 years (one of complete fidelity and great romantic love); creating 4 Millennial children that we did my best to raise to be mannerly, and with the innate character of both parents.

The problem here is that the Beaufort County GOP is beleaguered to the point of incredible incompetence, run by so-called Republicans that have an aversion to true Conservatives, where the local GOP works behind the scenes to support those who will act as political frauds to the representative detriment of all true Conservatives in Beaufort County, those who wish to be governed by true Conservative values.

It is the historical record of Beaufort County government that my words here are impeccably true. What will never be "impeccably true" are the words via the political neophytes of the Beaufort County GOP that may have promised to impugn my character just because I am a CONSERVATIVE politician that works against RINOs who vote with Democratic Socialists, thereby swapping votes to share power to build schools unneeded (10.5 million of county tax dollars); close community schools needed (the last community school, Snowden, in Aurora); shutter the Belhaven hospital (now torn down); and keep Beaufort County shut down for far too long during Covid; and refuse to have our county economic development site zoned what is economically proper - heavy industrial.

I hate fraud, and I despise liars even more than icompetence. If there exists a fight between RINOs, and RINO Whisperers with this real Conservative Republican ... GAME ON!

big Bob, Just for clarification, the gender unicorn was given to Early College Students in a BCCC class, not a Beaufort County Schools class. The majority of the classes Early College students take are BCCC that the school system has no say in what is being taught since it is a college class.

My point is that health care costs are out of control and our system is designed to generate profits first. Everyone needs to make a profit but as soon as you get sick or hurt you will find out how things really are.

Obamacare did a lot of good to reign in the insurance company abuse, but 16 years of neglect puts us right back where we started. I for one am more interested in this issue than a ballroom.

Thank-you for alerting the public to what may transpire regarding the beleaguered Beaufort County GOP under its current leadership.

Regardless of what actually transpires in this upcoming election, "forewarned is forearmed."

Stan-the only qualification for a US history curriculum is that it be the truth.

I hope voters would agree, anyone advocating propaganda in a history class is really unfit to be making such decisions.

Bob:
Remember Obama Care? Trump has lowered some drug prices, Cut a lot of waste out of Medicare. We all need to make noise. I was transported to Beaufort County hospital after and auto accident. I laid on a gurney in the hall next to the bullpen of nurses and on call physicians for eight hours, while my family waited in the waiting room not allowed to check on me. When they finally saw me, I was informed that they do not do MRI's on Saturdays. So, I waited for the next day to find out about internal injuries. Is that the Republicans fault or is it OK to continue with CON (Certificate of Need) so EC Health can continue their monopoly? Tell me more about rural hospitals and Belhaven and Martin County.

Welcome to health care in America. Its reassuring to know our president spends his time on the issues important to him, not us.

I went to the ER for an animal bite.
THE ER charged a total of 5,209.09 for facility services.
Medicare paid them $253.01. My Blue Cross paid them $138.71 .
So if the hospital can survive on just under $400 for a $5,000 bill...why cant we just skip Medicare and blue cross and just pay the hospital the $400? Why do we need the middleman and all the red tape?

I had three iron infusion drips at the Beaufort County Hospital. Takes about thirty minutes each. After each infusion I walked out. No hospital stay. Total bill, $1621.09

Steve Rader ... You are right: NC, and Beaufort County MUST have a pro America /One Community curriculum for Social Studies, Civics and all divisions of History classes.

Our public Education Industry, has, is, and will let our Self Governed Society down further if change is not abrupt.

Gender unicorn?
Not exactly part of the curriculum. As long as students are not forced to participate or graded on the activity, it likely isn't the end of the world. Some kids and families might appreciated it.

The mere mention of gender issues is not grounds to fire anyone.

Community standards vary and teachers should read the room.

I remember a woke "gender unicorn" flyer being passed out to students at Beaufort County Early College High School that students and parents objected to. and complaints were made to the school board. That is one that got a lot of public attention. The teacher that passed something like that out should have been fired.

Ya know... NOW doesnt charge you by the word on this platform. So, Why so vague. If you've got something to criticize, than elaborate, SAY It.
I'm not a mind reader... and if you seriously read my post, the school curriculum wasnt the subject of my post.

Roy Cooper was a disaster as governor, both from corruption and incompetence. A good example is the badly screwed up hurricane relief here in eastern North Carolina. He would be a disaster as a senator, a yes-man for the far left Democrat leadership.
