JV, I consider myself a Reagan Republican, not MAGA. I appreciate a lot of what Trump is doing, but I scratch my head at some things. His US senate endorsements in NC and SC are cases in point.
The Iran problem goes all the way back to Jimmy Carter, but during the Reagan era they were not in a position to be much of a threat to us, partly because of Iran and Iraq being at war during a good part of that time. Here is the fundamental problem. Iran hates us. Its government has led "Death to America" rallies going back to the Carter days. They call us the "Great Satan" and Israel the "Little Satan". A country that is a theocratic dictatorship, calls us the "Great Satan" and constantly proclaims "Death to America" is not one that any sane American would want to have nuclear weapons. Yet Iran is way too close to developing nuclear weapons. Further, the Muslim clique that runs the country is from a cult that believes the world needs to be engulfed in fire in order to bring about the return of the Mahdi, a Muslim religious figure. How better to engulf the world in fire than with nuclear weapons? Obama and Biden thought they could buy Iran off with lots and lots of cash, but all that did was give Iran resources to build weapons and advance their nuclear ambitions. Iran getting nuclear weapons is a huge danger to our country and to the world. Only those with their heads buried in the sand cannot comprehend that. One remembers the great Imperial Austrian chancellor von Metternich, who observed a couple of centuries ago that a balance of power peace only worked between true nation-states but could not apply when dealing with a country that was, in his term, an "armed ideology". In his era that was revolutionary and then Napoleonic France. In todays world the Islamo-fascist regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran is an even better example of an "armed ideology". It is a heck of a serious problem and not one easy to fix. I do give Trump credit for trying. It is something that is going to bite us in the ass if we don't fix it. The Democrats are just irresponsibly playing politics on this issue.

Jimmy Carter headed an organization that studied election systems around the world. He knew a whole lot more about the impact of mail-in voting than the anonymous "Big Bob" who seems to know little except the current Democrat talking points. From his own familiarity with voting systems and those of his organization, Jimmy Carter told us that mail-in voting is the type most prone to fraud. That is why it should be limited to situations where someone cannot actually make it to the polls on election day or during early voting.
the widespread use of mail-in voting and such other highly insecure measures like unattended ballot drop boxes were an invitation to fraud. Partisan Democrat attorneys pushed this hard for the 2020 election and kept their foot on the gas ever since. It is telling that a party pushes voting procedures that its own former leader has pointed out are the most prone to fraud. In the last election, there was a link posted on the BO to an article about a woman on the west coast (California, if memory serves) who moved into a new one bedroom apartment and received over twenty mail-in ballots in various names in the apartment's mail box. She took them all to the elections officials and turned them in. How many would have been tempted with such a system just to vote twenty times? Further, with that many in one small apartment, there is a real question of whether many or all of them had always been bogus. One remembers the scandal of the leftwing Democrat voter registration group ACORN being caught engaging all over the country in fraudulent voter registration. In the pre-2020 world, someone out of town on election day would normally vote by mail-in ballot. That would include politicians who were in Washington, DC, not their home states, like Trump. That would fall within one of the traditional exceptions to voting at the polling place in the pre-2020 era. Actually, in many foreign countries such as most of them in Europe, it is common practice for politicians to vote in person at their home polling place early on election day as a PR measure and photo op for the media.

SD: MAGA is now a full blown cult comprised of Boomers who refuse to both go against the script and question anything said by the President or those directly under him.
Anybody who sends Witkoff and Kushner, two MEGA ZIONISTS, to represent American interests is a friggin' idiot. People, such as those two clowns, have been banned from 109+ countries for a reason. I'm for America First...not Israel First. I don't search under my bed at night for Commies or sleep in my Trump drawers that were made in China. Again, it's mind-blowing that you older cats, in general but not all of you, seem to ignore what's really going on.

Trump votes by mail.
You can’t have it both ways. He won in 16 Lost in 20 Won in 24. Republicans have done well during this time. All under the same election rules. How do you argue that the system is corrupt when your guys keep winning? Makes you sound like an extremist that won, failed miserably at governing, but wants to keep power against the will of the voter now that it appears voters are weary and might change direction. That’s not patriotic, that’s f-ed up.

Commented on Mass protests escalate against Socialist Spanish prime minister over Ceuta illegal alien invasionMayorkas does need to be prosecuted, not only for making a mockery of our immigration laws but for the types of illegal aliens he allowed to pour across the border with his deliberate and intentional malfeasance.
The ultra-violent Venezuelan crime gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) was never present in the US until the traitor Mayorkas opened the border to them. Migrants openly displaying gang tattoos for TdA and the already present Salvadoran violent crime gang MS13 were just waived across the border under Mayorkas. Mayoraas even allowed them to use the "unaccompanied minor" subterfuge to get their gangsters into the US. Now, TdA has even moved its top headquarters from Venezuela to Juarez, Mexico, just across the Rio Grande from Texas. then there are the Communist Chinese. Mayorkas allowed thousands of military aged men from our biggest geostrategic adversary into the US with no questions asked. Under their communist government, people are not freely allowed to travel without government permission. These Red Chinese interlopers were landed in Peru, put up in a camp ringed with barbed wire and guarded by gun toting sentries run by China in Panama, then sent north for Mayorkas to let them into the US. This was all intentional. Mayorkas, a lawyer, could not just be stupid enough to not see what he was letting happen. He has committed high treason and needs to be prosecuted for it.

Commented on Mass protests escalate against Socialist Spanish prime minister over Ceuta illegal alien invasionSanchez is indeed a "traitor to Spain" and many in the Biden regime were traitors to the USA for the same reason. Sadly, they will never be prosecuted in either country.
The Vegetable President was himself in la-la land so much it is doubtful he even really knew what was going on, but those who pulled the strings in his name DID and should be prosecuted for it. That despicable skinhead Castro Cuban Mayorkas, in particular, ought to be in prison, and probably on death row for what he did to circumvent our immigration laws and undermine our national security.

Commented on Cooper criminals need “health care, not handcuffs.”No about Iran; that is why they have gone to the streets to protest and many have died trying to deserve a modicum of freedom.
Yes, I would name name myself and Hood for being good, decent, honest, and very competent politicians, but we can NOT do it all by ourselves; nor can those other good politicians in local government, and don't you and others in the electorate ever stop to ask yourselves why we, and others have had so little help over the years in limiting the scope of government, and ending corruption. Obviously, they like that form of government, or they would stop electing those politician who, conversely, are not good, decent, honest, and very competent politicians. This is not only a problem on Beaufort County's Board of County Commissioners, but a problem with every governing body in Beaufort County ... So tell me where I am wrong to well understand that the electorate is responsible for their government.

Or maybe we could ask the same about the UK. That of yours is statement is a cop-out...spin. My guess is if I asked you to name one "good" politician, you would name yourself and Hood. Name one other that is here to listen, help, serve, and ANSWER to The People who ask. All I see is a circling of the wagons, excuses and a lot of playing dumb. Local Govt is broken and it stays broken because no one with the power to make changes, changes that the ppl need, are willing to stick their necks out for it. I would like to see some real fight, such as a "Give Me Liberty or Give me death attitude among our politicians.

Washingtonian, that provision applies statewide. One election year when I was working abroad I had to use it because of the three times the BOE mailed me a ballot, two did not arrive and the third arrived a few days after the election. As I recall, I could only vote in statewide races that way, not local races. the form I was sent stated it was only for military and US government employees who were abroad, but I was told to submit it even though I did not fall into either one of those categories. I never did check to see if my email vote actually got counted.
It would have been so much simpler just to go down to the embassy to vote as so many other countries do.

Commented on Cooper criminals need “health care, not handcuffs.”Washingtonian: I have and will continue to do everything I can locally to make government more effective; even getting rid of Limited Voting, which is currently constitutional; however, I am just one Conservative always in search of 3 more ...
But Washingtonian, blaming all good elected leaders, along with the bad, will always help to promote an ignorant electorate, and we just cannot afford that in this Representative Republic, not in these desperate times, because ultimately: The People always get the government they deserve in this Constitutional Republic. It is that simple.

Okay, lets look at what the polls say voters are concerned about. One is crime, and here the GOP has a big advantage. Democrats, including Roy Cooper have a record of being soft on crime, while President Trump has delivered on reducing crime. Illegal immigration is also a big concern, and again Republicans have delivered while Democrats just make the situation worse. Illegal immigration also raises the cost of living in many areas including housing, health care, and insurance.
Inflation is a big issue, and this started galloping out of control under Biden. To really get a handle on this, we need to cut deficit spending, which is a major driver of inflation. A majority of Republicans favor such cuts while almost all Democrats oppose them.

Bob is simply a supporter of the globalists. He touches all the globalist bases. He supports the globalist open borders agenda. He supports the globalist climate agenda. He supports the globalist "woke" agenda such as radical gender ideology. Globalism is at its heart a totalitarian ideology that advocates rule by the elite. But Bob is not one of those elite, as he does not get an invitation to Davos, just one of the useful idiots of that movement.
It is also curious that he follows the lead of the globalist media in throwing around the term "extremist". To the globalist media, there is no such thing as an extremist on the left, but if you are even slightly to the right, then in their spiel, you are one. A good example is to look at German politics. To the globalist media the Left Party, which is the old East German Communist Party with a new name, is never called "extreme". Neither are the far left nutters of the Green Party. on On the other hand they constant use that label for the Alternativ fur Deutschland, whose positions on issues are essentially the same as the pre-Merkel Christian Democrats. There is little difference between the policies of the founder of the Christian Democrats, the great postwar German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and those of current AfD leader Alice Weidel. The same is true in the UK, where they fail to call the nutters of the Green Party extreme but apply that label to Nigel Farage and the Reform Party, even though Farage has essentially the same positions on issues as Sir Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher. "Extremist" is a favorite buzzword of the globalists and Bob paints himself as one by throwing it around like he does.

I think we have arrived at a "Wag The Dog" scenario here, involving Iran and Israel. President Trump and his administration are trying to sell this war to the public and folks ain't buying it. Taking a page out of Dubya's playbook, rattling on about "weapons of mass destruction", isn't a smart move.
I've often wondered if President Trump is actually playing games with Israel, over Iran, to show how NATO does nothing to Netanyahu but burns everyone else at the stake. Remember, many countries have called for Netanyahu and his minions to be tried in International court for crimes against humanity over several instances. Israel was also one of the most heavily jabbed countries in the world during COVIDpalooza....biological/chemical warfare on the general public.

What mail-in voting increases is fraud, like that dog that voted in California or the Pakistani man who had never even been to the US voting in California voting there. There are also incidents of people moving into a new apartment and at election time, 20 or more ballots arriving in various names to the apartment. There are also things like that example cited in Germany where a man with guardianship over his mother with severe dementia in a nursing home, who was supposed to receive all of her mail, discovering that her mail in ballot was not in the mail he received. When he inquired of the nursing home, they claimed all ballots received by residents without mental capacity had been shredded. However, when he checked with election officials, he found that her ballot had actually been receive and counted. There is a link to that story in a comment in this tread.
Jimmy Carter, who was an expert in election practices knew the problems with mail-in voting. All Bob pose is parrot the talking points of today's self serving Democrat politicians. I have voted by mail in ballot myself when I worked overseas. I would much rather have been able to just go down to the US embassy to vote in person, but we do not do that in the US, unfortunately.
