Are elected officials like Garris allowed to hold office on this executive committee? This Kidwell character is allowed to bloviate past his allotted times adding little substance while bullying his way through meetings like a bull in a china shop!
It’s time for him to go like Tillis or better yet just change your party affiliation from RINO to democRAT.
Anyone dissenting or questioning, especially Richardson appears to be ignored and stifled in their objections to seemingly parliamentary misdemeanors that are in fact serious transgressions of board etiquette.
Additionally, your committee leader Garris along with ex-officio member Kidwell appear to be attempting to ignore and burry a serious lawsuit. My recommendation is that real
Republicans resign and disown this organization if serious changes are not made especially before their liability is brought the court through this lawsuit.

Who would have ever thought that "race-based" actions were unconstitutional?

Darren Armstrong was recruited by ultra-RINO Jimmy Dixon of Duplin County on behalf of liberal RINO senate boss Phil Berger. Dixon is the liberal anti-gun legislator who blocked key gun rights legislation in this legislative session. Berger has been responsible for a long list of liberal legislation from letting men into womens restrooms to the NC Green New Deal to the Obamacare Medicaid expansion to trying to put out NC shrimpers out of business to trying to spread casinos across the state. Anyone who would align with Dixon and Berger is NO CONSERVATIVE. Armstrong also has a history of a big time Marc Basnight Democrat when he lived in Hyde County.

Both Dixon and Berger have sold their souls to the special interests. Dixon is a farmer himself but in this legislative session tried to screw farmers two ways. He tried to put raw milk farmers completely out of business. He also tried to protect a big out of state chemical company which put chemicals they knew caused cancer into farm chemicals from being sued by NC farmers who got cancer from those chemicals. Dixon was willing to stab his own people in the back to play up to the special interests. Beaufort County does NOT need our own version of Jimmy Dixon in the legislature.

I agree w Befuddled.
Three more years of Trump is not going to save this country nor Beaufort County. If a Dem gets elected to the WH just bend over and kiss your cherished liberty goodbye.
I watched a video of an English woman in England say:
"This is the beginning of the end. There is no going back for us."
That may be true for the USA as well.

All I can do is vote the scroundrels out...and that begins with Kidwell. I'm voting for Darrin Armstrong who I understand has a home in Belhaven. I wouldn't vote for Kidwell, even if he were the only GOPer on the ballot. His contempt for the people he is supposed to
represent is obvious. Good Riddance!

Conspiracy theorist were right yet again.
Conspiracy theorist is just someone that knows the truth months or years before the truth is made public.
Until people are held accountable and put in jail, nothing will change. Sadly I don't see anyone actually being held accountable for all the wrong that has been exposed in so many things.

I heard the Beaufort County GOP meeting was a disaster. According to a long-term member, even the items already on the agenda were handled incompetently. The example he gave was the election of Board of Elections recommendations. He said it was done in a manner he had never seen before and was not done seriously. Even worse was the situation where relevant business was not on the agenda and was blocked from being allowed on the agenda. His summation was, "they are the mafia, except that there is more honor in the mafia."

With the influx of unsavory individuals on this committee in leadership positions many good and decent people have left. I'm guilty too. Good people need to come back. The Beaufort County Republican Party has hit rock bottom.

The Hood is right: I was there; the Beaufort County GOP meeting, on December the 18th, was a complete fiasco, and an embarrassment to the local Republican Party, once again, and in every manner possible.

First, why have a political business meeting scheduled before a so-called Christmas party, when the business at hand was not properly broached? Secondly, why spend well over ten thousand dollars on a nonpartisan election, with NO Beaufort County GOP Executive Committee authorization or oversight, then not meet for 3 months during that election season, and then ham handedly attempt to tie a bow on such malfeasance at a planned Christmas Party?

It makes no sense whatsoever, especially when those at the meeting, who took umbrage with such terrible political behavior, were not allowed to speak directly to the issues so boldly recognized and at hand. It truly was not only a political fiasco, but one big ugly mess, and papering over such alleged malfeasance with the trappings of Christmas just made all of these muddled matters so much worse.

If anyone believes that the Vegetable Joe Biden, actually won the 2020 Presidential election in Georgia, then they may be a complete blithering idiot, every bit as much as the future Idiot President.

Fulton County, Georgia, is a corrupt county, and could have made the big difference in Georgia electing two Democratic Socialist US Senators as well. Ask yourself this: Why did Fani Willis believe she could prosecute a former and future president using fake laws, and get away with it? And there is your answer.

The fact that a district judge would have blocked this law for two years shows just what sort of dingbats that Obama and Biden (or at least the Biden autopen) appointed to our courts. They are a threat to democracy.

Freeloading off taxpayers by welfare dependency is rampant everywhere there are illegal aliens. In Germany, 61% of the country's welfare money is paid to illegal alien "asylum seekers". These parasites need a quick trip back home to stay.

So, does anyone know what happened today with the Board of Elections meeting? Did any of it involve Councilman Tyre and his real place of residence? I've heard nothing on that.

But nevermind, it doesnt matter because we are doomed! Doomed by stupid govt officials. I'm not being sarcastic, I being literal. These people want to live on your taxpayer money, on top of the hill, and for you bothersome humans to just butt out and leave them in peace to enjoy their elitism. And if they arent all stupid, then they are
totally dishonest to the point that I still say we are DOOMED.
There are no smart people in govt except for Trump's cabinet.
Those new city council members are too new to be judged yet.

But Oh my God, look at Minnesota, California, New York, Great Britain, Australia... we are doomed. I live here, but I am wishing I didnt.
I see stupid people.

Attacks on freedom of speech are becoming endemic in many parts of the world. They are attacks on democracy itself. Without free speech, it is not possible to have democracy. It is frightening to see some of this same stuff being quietly placed in our own institutions.

Gavin Newsom is such a disgusting and stupid politician that I have just now been inspired to give Oil Slick Gavin (formerly a Deatherage original) an even better name; where, on occasion, I will refer to the one that Mr. Trump refers to as "Newscum," as "Handjob" ... Yeah, you read it here first ... But, it won't be the last time I refer to Oil Slick Gavin as "Handjob".

It is just too perfect of a reference point for this incredibly ignorant politician, who possess no reasonable sense of self-awareness.

Agreed on all counts John.

When it comes to AI versus human art, which AI is not art because it is not human, I agree with it being highly regulated, and even classes to help humans know what is real and human, and what is not.

Also, I agree: At some point in your life, "pick up an instrument and learn to play," even if you never become a professional, learn to play.

Often, my wife, of 47.5 years, will ask me to play my guitar and sing for her, which I do almost every time she requests it.

I play what she likes to hear, and she loves it like I was one of here favorite musicians, and from that point on for the rest of that evening, I am so thankful that I 'picked up an instrument and learned to play.' One more thing, if one possesses any ear for music at all, playing an instrument will help to tune one's vocals.
Commented: Sunday, December 21st, 2025 @ 5:49 pm By: Stan Deatherage
To quote producer Rick Beato: "Pick up an instrument and learn how to play it. Create, explore and own the rights to your music. With AI, you don't own the rights to your music; it becomes public domain."

There's good and bad in everything BUT AI, being the archaic structure that it is, must remain highly regulated and restricted. If unleashed and used by the general public for everyday life, history is doomed to repeat itself.........again.

There are still idiots advocating for the "advancement" of AI but it hasn't gained the traction they, the "powers that be", thought it would. On one end of the spectrum, AI hasn't been warmly accepted. On the other end, "The Terminator" and "RoboCop" ain't that far off.

I mentioned this issue to our board a while back. I've been monitoring this phenomenon both internationally and nationally for years. Now, as expected, it has fallen in our laps locally.
I'm an old soldier. My oath to protect and defend the Constitution did not expire. In fact, all U.S. citizens should recognize how important these dearly bought constitutionally protected rights are.

Let me give a practical example of how using the undefined term "hate symbol" can be a problem for teachers and principals.

A devout Jewish family moves to the county. Their daughter goes to school wearing, as she usually does a necklace with a Star of David pendent of her religion. A student of Muslim / Arab origin sees it and complains that in his mind it reflects "occupation" and "colonialism". With no definition to backstand them, school staff are left twisting in the breeze and will be criticized whatever they do.

Those in Raleigh do not seem to always think things through on their recommendations.
Commented: Sunday, December 21st, 2025 @ 10:11 am By: Steven P. Rader
There is a quote: "One person's junk is another person's treasure."
That seems 2b the way Hate Speech/symbols is understood.
People r easily misled. Humans who r naturally compassionate, cannot resist hugging a tree n need. AND so That is why we must always revert back to the rule of law, THE Constitution.
One must always b aware of the philosophy of their elected ppl. Either they r law & order ppl or they r let's "work the system" types.
When we choose to live inside a city, we r actually accepting the city's ordinances & zoning laws. These laws exist so that humans can live closely together & not b combatting each other. If the city govt is "working the system" then they r creating needless stress on
citizens,& actually violating civil rights IMO.
Abt 3yrs ago I heard a councilman say "I think pple should b able to do what they want on their own land. So w that attitude we now hav govt workin th system to benefit a landowner, to th detriment of neighbors.
IS THIS NEW GOVT DIFF?

For many years since the changeover to Marxism, the Democratic Socialist party has had a certain respect for the Venezuelan government, even disputing the President Trump's Article II powers to go to war against Narco Terrorists on the High Seas; even to the point of calling such actions of our President illegal, and advising military men and women to disobey direct orders, or themselves be prosecuted as a War Criminals when their Democratic Socialist party regains the power to do so.

Why would any patriot, or any smart American citizen ever vote for any Democratic Socialist for any office ever again?

Van Zant: I very thankful two more Republicans - Davis and Shreve - are added to that list in respecting the First Amendment.

For the life of me, and my life is very dear, I will never understand how other so-called "Republicans" don't understand that they must be circumspect of words used by Leftists, of which the word "HATE," and all it represents to the Democratic Socialists, is chief among them.
Commented: Sunday, December 21st, 2025 @ 9:30 am By: Stan Deatherage
Mr. Rader's disclosure that the "hate symbol" terminology did not originate locally is key. The school board was in the process of ferreting out language that did not belong in a Beaufort County School policy. That is their job. Four of the members recognized the ramifications of the inserted term (Rader, Hickman, Davis and Shreve). The other four Republicans either did not recognize the danger, or they are in favor of that type of policy violating constitutionally protected rights. There was a time when Democrats stood up for constitutional rights. I guess those times are gone. I do expect better from out Republican delegation.
