Let's look at what happened. The bill as filed prohiboted BOTH the actual practice of gender reassignment procedures both surgical and pharmaceutical, and the use of state money to pay for it. A late committee substitute (a frequent tactic of the "leadership" when they want to ram something through against the wishes of the GOP base) took prohibitions on pharmaceutical intervention out of the bill. The floor amendment restored that ONLY as to use of state funds.

Now let's look behind the scenes at what happened. The forces working against this bill inside the Raleigh Republican establishment were from two directions. One was Big Medicine's waterboy in the legislature, State Rep. Tim Reeder (RINO-Pitt), who wants Big Medicine to continue to make big bucks by screwing up children. This contrasts with Utah where a private practice medical doctor was the chief sponsor of successful legislation to shut down this quackery completely, as private practice medical doctors in other states have been. Reeder, however, works for corporate medicine, which looks at dollar signs more than anything else.

The other force working against common sense has been the nest of homosexual supporters within Speaker Tim Moore's own office, who wanted to water down this bill as much as they could. This group is led by Moore's deputy chief of staff who is also a leader of North Caorlina's main Gaystapo group, Equality North Carolina.

These people wanted to take the drug restrictions out completely and did so in their crooked backroom "committee substitute". There was enough backlash, they had to restore it by a floor amendment on the portion of this travesty that least impacted the bottom line of corporate medicine, so it was restricted to the state funding part.

Tim Moore was in the thick of efforts to water down this legislation. Hopefully, the senate will add these provisions back, but the threat to solid leiglation there comes from another water boy for corporate medicine, RINO Senator Jim Perry.

As it stands now, unscrupulous quack doctors in North Carolina will still, under this bill, be able to administer the very same drug used for chemical castration of rapists to gender confused young boys and drugs that often cause sterility to both young boys and young girls. In short, this bill allows what is really monstrous child abuse by unprincipled doctors in our state.

So now you lefties are shooting him all over again by shooting his message of a color blind society. The best way to honor MLK is to honor his message, not pander to the Marxist message.

Well, we shot MLK too.

It is. Greed and corruption are also part of the human condition. Two characteristic we are obligated to over come.

Having been actively involved in politics for over half a century, there are two types of politicians I have observed, those motivated by principle and policy on one hand, and those motivated by money and power on the other. I have been pleased to know, campaign for, and in one instance work in his administration, several outstanding examples of the first type, such as: Senator Jess Helms, Senator John East, Governor Jim Martin, President Ronald Reagan, State Senators Bill Cook and Anne Bagnal, State Representatives Sandy Hardy and Keith Kidwell, county commissioners Carol Cochran, Stan Deatherage, and Hood Richardson and a number of school board members in a couple of counties. Unfortunately, I have seen too many of the other kind, too. I have also seen some who exhibited aspects of both types.

I remember my old friend C.J. Hyatt, who was the last true conservative to serve as a state officer of the state Democrat Party. When I served with him as an officer of the old Forsyth County Conservative Union, C.J. would always express complete distain for what he called the "go along / get along Democrats", who were the opportunists just looking to get themselves ahead and with no fixed set of political principles. He said that although he never agreed with them on policy, he had a lot more respect for the liberal ideologues in his party, who at least were guided by a set of principles than the go along / get along Democrats who were only looking out for their own personal advantage.

It is good to see Virginia joining Florida in working to drive a stake through the heart of the Marxiat DEI monster. Their "equity" concept of government imposed equallity of result is the exact opposite of the American principle of equality of opportunity and meritocracy. It is also directly opposed to Dr. Martin Luther King's concept of looking at the content of one's character, not th ecolor of someone's skin.

It's always been about money, But how we behave is up to us.

What actually happened on this bill is that the Neal amendment prohibiting use of drugs only applied to one part of the bill and not the other. It applied only to the second part prohibiting use of state funds for theses procedures, but NOT to the first part prohibiting the procedures entirely. Here is the bill as passed with the amendment:
www.ncleg.gov

All Republicans voted for this bill, and it was also bi-partisan as a few Democrats also voted for the amendment or the overall bill.

Gordon Lightfoot was the Bob Dylan of Canada, and I will always consider "If You Could Read my Mind" as one of the most poignant, if not the most poignant, unrequited love songs ever written ... like "lightning in bottle" when created
and sung when Gordon was in his prime, this melody is timeless.

It is a song that I choose to play on my Pawn Shop Guitar #1, and sing once in a great while when I am especially thankful for being married to just one fine woman for nearly 45 years. Sometimes, I even get close to that Lightfoot lilt in his pained voice just as a homage to such a great song, so well performed.

"If I could read your mind, love
What a tale your thoughts could tell
Just like a paperback novel
The kind the drugstore sells
When you reach the part where the heartaches come
The hero would be me
But heroes often fail
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just too hard to take

I'd walk away like a movie star
Who gets burned in a three way script
Enter number two, a movie queen to play the scene
Of bringing all the good things out in me
But for now, love, let's be real

I never thought I could act this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it
I don't know where we went wrong
But the feeling's gone and I just can't get it back" - Gordon Lightfoot

Regardless if you believe in God or not, this is a "must-read" message!!!

Throughout history, we can see how we have been carefully conditioned coming to this point where we are on the verge of a cashless society. Did you know that the Bible foretold of this event almost 2,000 years ago?

In the last book of the Bible, Revelation 13:16-18, we read,

"He (the false prophet who deceives many by his miracles--Revelation 19:20) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666."

Speaking to the last generation, this could only be speaking of a cashless society. Why? Revelation 13:17 states that we cannot buy or sell unless we receive the mark of the beast.

Today, politics is driven, not by character and principle, but by money. Those who are most fiercely attacked stand on principle and character.

You seem to have missed the salient fact that Martin Brown is a black man who is opposing DEI, not a "rich white snowflake". Common sense and integrity are not defined by race.

Outraged? Nothing surprising about rich white snowflakes and their lack of empathy for anyone.

Doing this to children too young to even comprehend the meaning and the consequences is just sickening. It is past time that the legislature put a stop to it.

Then I hazard to guess the Big Bob rule is true for rich Black men as well.

Senator Jim Perry AGAIN????? That RINO turns up like a bad penny every time liberal Republicans are selling us out to the special interests.

Anything you don't like, Big Government Bob, you call a "lynch mob" but you have repreatedly refused to condemn a recent blatant and real lynch mob, the one that attacked Riley Gaines. You are a hypocrite and a phony.

What we are talking about here is a child protection law. How you make a "lynch mob" out of that is just crazy talk, Big Government Bob.

Those who push this "hate speech" scam are NOT supporters of free speech even if you falsely claim to be. That is also true of those who push the "disinformation" gambit and the contrived "fact check" industry which dishes ideological spin instead of "facts".

Threats are threats, not "hate speech". Communicating threats was a crime here in North Carolina long before the far left invented the term "hate speech". Those clear examples of repression of legitimate political speech in France is what you get when the left puts in place their totalitarian "hate speech" laws.

Now we know who is causing global warming. When we can't afford air conditioning because the Biden Democrats have run up the cost, they will be the ones directly responsible for our own personal warming inside our homes.

In the last multi-century warm cycle, the Medieval Warm Period, air conditioning was not invented yet and people made it through until the following cold cycle, known as the Maunder Minimum or the Little Ice Age arrived for several centuries. During this natural warm cycle, we do have air conditioning if the climate cult would just let us use it!
Commented: Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 @ 10:23 am By: Concerned Taxpayer
its interesting. The climate has changed so much almost none of us would consider not living with A/C. Yes only 100 years ago nobody even knew what A/C is.

Like most on here, Big Bob is a big supporter of free speech. Just dont say hate speech isn't real. For example, Big Bob supports the rights of nazi pigs to assemble and make fools of themselves. But it's pure hate.
