Comments for Carolyn Garris: A long line of disrespect for the law and proper procedures

Stewardship of county records is not important until it is, then it is very important

"We, as Republicans, have a duty to keep our party as clean and wholesome as possible." -HR
Your party's nominee for president is currently on trial for paying hush money to a porn star he b8nged while married. HR, sometimes you are so full of horse sh8t.

Bob, you are the only one on this site I have seen condoning and trying to justify terrorism. This guy seems right up YOUR street. Probably Hamas related.

Again, Bigot Bob wants to make everything about race, but my bet is still that this dude in ANTIFA and more a comrade of Bobbie than any conservative. But he could be one of the white members of BLM, too, or given the current climate, one of the far left supporters of the Hamas terrorists. Bombs make the last option auite likely, and that is where most of the agitation is right now.

The question is: will the white police fully enforce the law against the white bomber? Apparently he had several homemade bombs. By the look of him, some one on this site knows him. He might be a participant. Right out side the food lion. good lord.

To the readers of this rant by Hood, NC General Statute GS 47- 16.1 allows Registers of Deeds (ROD) to electronically record deeds and other documents normally kept in the ROD offices. Unfortunately, after 100's of years of recording and storing paper documents, many ROD offices are out of storage area, Beaufort County being one of those. There are currently 76 counties in NC (out of 100) that have transitioned to electronic recording. I'm sure Hood has been in the storage areas within the Beaufort County Courthouse and is aware of or chooses to ignore the lack of space. Carolyn Garris has resigned her position as Chairman of the Beaufort County Republican Party. Paul Varcoe has assumed her duties as he was the 1st vice-chairman. I'm sure you know Mr. Varcoe, he was the gentleman you charged with assault. Sadly, for you, in a court of law, you lost your case. I don't know Mr. Melton. No ill will intended, but I'm not sure his background makes him any more qualified than Mrs. Garris.

No, Bobbie, this dude Cameron sounds more ANTIFA to me or maybe BLM. Then again, in the current climate he could be connected to one of the HAMAS terrorist support groups. Anyway, under NC statute, a sawed off shotgun in considered a "weapon of mass destruction" and that is what usually leads to one of these charges. That is right up the alley of the groups I mentioned.

I guessing some of you know Cameron. it will be interesting if to see if he acted alone or had help. He will be offered something to talk. No way that guy goes down by himself.

One of yours?

Cameron Lee Smith, 40, of Washington, has been identified as the suspect arrested by Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday night for possession of weapons of mass destruction.

It is also no shock that the far-left anonymous troll on this site would find points of alignment with the present incarnation of the BC Republican Party.

A firm man like Hood is needed to even the scales because of Nancy boys. Hood has served the county for years and he has earned the respect he is due just being an elder alone. Why would folks run when they see him coming if it weren’t for a guilty conscience?

His generation doesn’t waste much time worrying about feelings but gets down to brass tax. Personally I’m glad to still have this generation around. If people would hold their conversations with this man in respect, instead of the condescending smirking manner I have witnessed at meetings, I’m sure they would get a lot further with him.

It’s a shame cause with a little civility I’m happy to include his perspective. Along with all the others.

A favorite slogan of the communists has been "history is on our side", and the modern far left in America has somewhat modified that to "the right side of history". Now Bolshevik Bob is invoking the very same concept as his "comrades".

I agree with one thing the so called 'truthful agitators' are saying. The voters ARE watching what is going on in Beaufort County. What Beaufort County residents with half a working brain see is a bitterly divided county Republican Party led by haters. They hate conservatives. They hate most natives. They hate the truth. They have utter distain for the party platform. They disregard procedures and rules, and they are capable of damned near anything.

When they want to exclude people from their clique, they will say or do whatever it takes to do it. In the case of HR, they can't stand having him in the party, so they make up some claptrap story about how an ex-officio member can be excluded.

Here's reality: Ex-officio members cannot be legitimately excluded, because they are there because of their position as ELECTED Republicans. Those ex-officio folks DO have a right to participate in the meetings, make motions and engage in discussions. They cannot vote unless they have been elected by the convention or by special election by the executive committee between conventions.

Hood is not the only local Republican being shunned by the present-day leadership cult. In the last convention they made controversial and hotly contested special rules so as to be able to cast off the people they don't like. That was a hostile departure from the wise practices set up by better leaders from the past. They also have special rules for themselves - which means they pretty much have NO rules for themselves! There are too many examples of that to bother listing. Fact is, there are 4X4 truckloads of examples of the backstabbing and hatefulness.

Don't believe me? Just ask some of the long-gone people that USED to be active in the local party what they think. There is an extended list of those folks.

Steed: Truth be told, I'd say that Trump is the reason why the GOP is split three ways. You've got the everyday GOP, you got the MAGA Republican crowd and then you've got the younger to middle age crowd that's burning Trump on his wishy washy stance on the SARS-COV-2 "vaccines", his comments about how Israel ("New Khazaria" as it used to be listed on old maps) should be immune from the International courts and his "Freedom Cities" (the same thing as a 15 minute city but sounds better to the voter).

This presents a big problem that nobody talks about. Democrat numbers are low but so are Republican numbers across the board which is why Trump and Kennedy will push the third party. They know that the old system is effed and that most of their base/former base will not accept it because some of them are smart. They've figured out the consent is everything in this game and that if people dont consent, the dominoes will fall.

I'd be careful about pushing Trump. He's upset the wrong group.

Gary Patrick Tucker: I have absolutely no problem with the "rich tapestry of perspectives in Beaufort County," in fact, I embrace it. Where my problem lies with what you are referring as the "5-2" is that there has been in Beaufort County politics, for decades, is a misrepresentation of presentation of who is who, and what is what. From a functional perspective, this ongoing paradigm of fakery, there has been: corruption in order for individual politicians to succeed; the bipartisan coalition of vote swapping for power sharing between parties; in remaining elected; with the end result is a branding problem individually and collectively.

All I am doing as a politician, and, moreover, a journalist is that I point out what is true and what is real. So, within that "rich tapestry of perspectives in Beaufort County," what I represent to the public is the perspective of honest discourse, and clarity of purpose, to which i encourage others to do the same.

You see, if one is to be that political voice for their constituents, it is better to be an honest one. Singularly, if one is to believe in something such as the Republican Party of Beaufort County, then it needs to be real in its pursuits, which it clearly is not.

To that end, in the election process, where there are two functioning political parties, both with platforms of ideals and conduct of elected officials: there are the Democratic Socialists and there are the Republicans here in the county of Beaufort. I am not in charge of this construct, and generally have had little time to help forge those collected rules for the Republicans; however, I know what they are, and I do abide by those idyllic rules of political purpose. In turn, I expect fellow Republicans to do the same.

When that does not occur, and then, first there exists a cover up, which then becomes a collective lie, the truth will be told by those who are honest for the public has not only a right to know, moreover, the public is charged with a responsibility to know what is true and what is real. That is the only construct where the self-governed can continue to exist within the framework of a Representative Republic.

That is, in part, why the First Amendment provides for a Free Press. In the Public Square of Ideals only truth can exist for wisdom to flourish.

If I am wrong Gary Patrick Tucker, please tell me where and how, and please be specific.

Stan , While you emphasize the enduring ‘5-2’ political equation, others might contend that such categorizations oversimplify the rich tapestry of perspectives in Beaufort County. Acknowledging a spectrum of viewpoints could contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations.
