Along the river-walk to the northwest there is real residential development among the along the boardwalk, and to the due west, we see the old Georgetown Steel Mill in the background upon the distant shore: Below. images by Stan Deatherage

Just to the northeast of the boardwalk is this green-space commemorating the fallen heroes of Georgetown County: Above. Renovated, retrofitted buildings adorn the streets along Front Street: Below. images by Stan Deatherage

The Georgetown Historic District is 220 acres, and features antebellum, some colonial and pre-depression era homes that line the streets of the rectangular shaped district perpendicular to Front Street: Above and below. images by Stan Deatherage

The day I was in Georgetown the sun played peek-a-boo with the thickening clouds. The period homes were lovely in the muted light; however, I plan to return when the light is much brighter: Above and below. images by Stan Deatherage.
