Severe Weather Outlook continued | Eastern NC Now

News release:

    Good Day Everybody:

    There is an 80% chance we will see wind gust of greater than 60mph at any time between 1:00pm and 8:00pm. There is still a chance of a tornado during the same time frame. We should also expect wind driven sheets of rain as these storms pass.

    The ground is saturated from recent rains and more possibly heavy periods of rain are likely. Based on the information above I would not be doing my job if I did not urge caution when responding to or from an incident.

    I must urge extra awareness be paid to your surrounding on scene. Examples are any overhead cover, wind driven fire and poor visibility for traffic arriving on the scene or passing by the scene. As usual please report scene situation upon arrival to Communications and contact Curtis and I with details when time permits.

    I will be in the EOC this afternoon from 2:00pm until the storms clear Beaufort County and hopefully they pass without incident.
