Margaret T. Alligood | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Margaret Lee Toler Alligood, age 80, a resident of 810 South Asbury Church Road, Washington, NC died Tuesday April 5, 2011 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday April 9, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Shad Watters. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Dalton Ray Alligood, Jr., Kevin Boyd, Joe Boyd, Paul Blackstock, Phil Garris and Mike King will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Alligood, Darrell Alligood, Jr., Keith Alligood, Ray Alligood and Warren Blackstock.

    Mrs. Alligood was born in Craven County on February 12, 1931 daughter of the late James Zeffie Toler and the late Murtie Bell Price Toler. She married Harley Ray Alligood, Sr. on January 7, 1945 who preceded her in death on January 14, 1995. Mrs. Alligood dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Love Baptist Church.

    Survivors include five daughters: Frances Boyd and her husband Wade of Pinetown, Cathrine Yontz and her husband Larry of Washington, Donna Alligood of Washington, Joyce Alligood of Washington and Lois Blackstock and her husband Timmy of Chocowinity; four sons: Hardy Alligood and his wife Rose of Chocowinity, Darrell Alligood and his wife Rita of Washington, Dalton Alligood of Washington and Harley Ray Alligood, Jr. of Washington; two brothers: James Toler of Havelock and Ernest Toler of New Bern; three sisters: Judy Tripp and her husband Billy of Chocowinity, Mary Williams and her husband Jack of Greenville and Joyce Anderson and her husband Skeet of Greenville; twenty two grandchildren and forty four great grandchildren. Mrs. Alligood was preceded in death by two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday April 7, 2011 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and at other times at the home.
