    Mr. Willie Dave Ayers, age 74, a resident of 4307 Terrapin Track Road, Washington, NC died Sunday April 13, 2014 at Ridgewood Nursing Center.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Phillip Jethro. Pallbearers will be Mike Woolard, Ben Waters, Naron Woolard, James Cadle and Bud Brooks

    The family will receive friends 6 pm to 8 pm Tuesday April 15, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

    Mr. Ayers was born in Martin County on May 6, 1939 son of the late James Stanley Ayers and the late Betty Elizabeth Wynn Ayers. He married the former Lena Paula Angel on December 8, 1962 who survives. Mr. Ayers worked as an air condition technician with National Spinning Co. for thirty five years. He was a member of Alligood Church of God. Mr. Ayers enjoyed nature and keeping his yard Immaculate and also kept the yard work done at Beaufort County Grange for twenty years.

    Surviving along with his wife Paula of the home are two daughters: Bobbie Jean Woolard and her husband Mike of Washington and Paula Michelle Waters and her husband Ben of the Acre Station community of Plymouth; a brother: Warren Dave Ayers of Martin County; a sister: Sally Williamson of Washington; two granddaughters: Madison Michelle Riggs and Brittany Morgan Riggs. Mr. Ayers was expecting the birth of his third granddaughter: Allie Jean Woolard in July. He is also survived by his devoted pet Poodle: Maggie Sue Ayers. He was predeceased by a brother: Joe Dave Ayers and a sister: Bessie Mae Williamson.
