    Lillian Leggett Edelen, age 96, of Dacula, GA and formerly of Washington, NC passed away Friday, June 6, 2014.

    Mrs. Edelen was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and the North Carolina Mayflower Society.

    She is survived by her 2 sons, Philip Neale Edelen and wife Myrna of Dacula, GA, and Ernest Franklin Edelen and wife Sandy of Canon City, CO; 1 daughter, Virginia Barrow-Williams and husband Phil of Atlantic Beach, FL; 8 grandchildren, Robin E. Jungbluth, Tracy E. Stowe, Joe Edelen, Erica E. Attard, Chris Edelen, Robert Edelen, John Barrow and Margaret B. Lyle; 10 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Allison, Hazel, Asher, Norah, Mazy, Lauren, Colin, Logan and Evan; 2 sisters, Elanor L. Clark of Grimesland, NC and Maggie L. Davenport of Washington, NC; 3 brothers, Allen Leggett, Robbie Leggett and Rickie Leggett all of Washington, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin Edelen; 2 brothers, John Leggett and Kemp Leggett.

    Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Friday, June 13, 2014 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 112 W. 9th Street, Washington, NC 27889. Father Brendan J. Buckler will be officiating. Interment will be held at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, 161 Avon Ave., Washington, NC 27889. The family will receive friends 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Hillside Funeral Service and Cremations, 4500 Highway 264 East, Washington, NC 27889.
