Hampton Bennett Allen, Jr. | Eastern NC Now

    Hampton (Hamp) Bennett Allen, Jr., 79 of Surfside Beach, SC passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born April 14, 1935 to the late Hampton B. Allen and Mary Myers Faulkner Allen of Wadesboro, NC. He is a retired NC magistrate and owned several businesses in Belhaven, NC. He served his country in the US Army. He is a member of the Surfside United Methodist Church.

    Hamp is survived by his wife of 45 years Judy Estridge Allen of the home; one daughter, Susie Allen Bowers of Norwood, NC. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Allen Robbins (and Floyd) of Raleigh, NC and Glenda Allen Livingston of Wadesboro, NC. He is preceded in death by a son Hampton (Hampy) B. Allen, III sister, Rebecca (Becky) Allen Walton and Grandson Brian Bowers. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. John Rathbun, Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice. Especially his care givers, Amber Baldwin and Veronica Green.

    A Celebration of Hamp's Life will be held at the home Judy and Hamp at 616 10th Avenue, Surfside Beach from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, July 19, 2014.
