News Release:

    The water consumers of Beaufort County Northside in District II are experiencing or have experienced periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to equipment failure. This affects all Beaufort County water customers located in District II in the following areas: Cherry Road from Market Street to Singleton Road, Singleton Road, Keyesville Road, Corsica Road, Southwind Drive, Della Lane, Cherry Road Estates, Slatestone Road from 612 Slatestone Road to the intersection with Corsica Road and any feeder roads to the above named roads. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

    Therefore, the Water System advises that when water is restored, consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

    Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

    This office is strongly urging the water consumers to conserve water whenever possible. Necessary steps to restore the water pressure have been taken, but

    this advisory remains in effect until further notification is issued.
