    Mrs. Lillian Lucretia Boyd Cox, age 92, a resident of 541 Creek Road, Bath, NC died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the First Church of Christ of Washington, officiated by Dennis R. Davis. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. James Everett, Ernie Everett, Danny Everett, Ronnie Flowers, Ted Wallace and Octavius Wallace, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Cox was born in Beaufort County on February 25, 1922 to the late James Rufus Boyd and Edith Iowa Waters Boyd. She attended Bath School. On January 23, 1943, she married Carlton Lynn Cox, who preceded her in death on August 22, 1984. Mrs. Cox worked as a seamstress for over 20 years at Samson Shirt Factory. Mrs. Cox attended Everett's Church of Christ.

    Mrs. Cox is survived by two daughters: Barbara Sullivan and husband Larry of Bath, NC and Grace Woolard Ball and husband David S. Ball of Washington. NC, seven grandchildren: Anita Fordham and husband Larry, Cynthia Bennett and husband Doug, Roy Hancock and wife Tina, Jamie Sawyer and husband Timothy, Chelsie Hope and husband Ray, Patricia Cox and Crystal Grant., great grandchildren: Jeremy Swanner, Jonah Bennett, Koi Chapman, Jade Cox, Hunter Sawyer, Lily Sawyer, Ashton Sawyer, Alyssa Hope, Courtney Hancock and Matthew Hancock.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by a son: Roy Clifford Cox, two brothers, Chapman Boyd and Oscar Boyd and three sisters, Marcia Baynor, Viola Braddy and Thelma Everett.

    The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home .

    Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the Everett's Church of Christ Building Fund, 22 S. White Post Road, Pinetown, NC 27865.
