Frederick B. Wall [UPDATED] | Eastern NC Now

    Frederick B. Wall, age 83, a resident of Elizabeth Ave., Chocowinity, NC, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. Fred was born in Washington, NC on November 29, 1930 son of the late Leslie Wall and Sarah McLawhorn Wall. He graduated from Washington High School and served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. On November 6, 1954, Fred married the former Mary Heath who survives. Fred was employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service and retired with 29 years of service. He was a lifelong resident of Beaufort County and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.

    In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his children, Tawny Hollis and husband Gary of Bath, NC, Shamra Sawyer and husband Tom of Merrimon, NC and Kirk Wall and wife Sharon of Yorktown, VA; and two grandchildren, Brandon Hollis of Holly Springs, NC and Austin Wall of Yorktown, VA.

    In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Spruill and his brothers, Leslie E. (Edmund) Wall and Joseph B. (JB) Wall.

    A private graveside service will be held at the Wall Family Plot in Oakdale Cemetery officiated by The Rev. Sonny Brown and Edmond Guthrie. Gary Hollis, Brandon Hollis, Tom Sawyer, Austin Wall and Dick Plettenberg will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors at the home.
