    Mr. Myran Edward Ireland, age 74, a resident of 489 Dan Taylor Rd., Washington, NC died Friday September 5, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 Wednesday September 10, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Tony Krantz. Pallbearers will be Wayne Hardison, Herman Grissom, Paul Harris, Jimmy Foreman, Andy Woolard and Barry Bright. Honorary pallbearers will be: Crystal Ireland, Kevin Stancill and Emily Rowe.

    The family will receive friends at the home.

    Mr. Ireland was born in Pamlico County on May 11, 1940 son of the late Corbert Thomas Ireland and the late Millie Dare Ballance Ireland. He was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School. On March 25, 1960 he married the former Lou Warren Pinkham who survives. Mr. Ireland was a mechanic who worked with Beaufort County and Greene County school bus garages. He also worked with Moore Motor Company of Washington and was owner/operator of the former Ireland Motors.

    Surviving along with Mr. Ireland's wife Lou of the home is a daughter: Connie I. Stancill and husband Henry of Washington; a son: Jeffery Gray Ireland and wife Colleen of Washington; three sisters: Myrtie I. Bright of Washington, Virginia I. Elks of Chocowinity and Diana I. Buck and husband Stephen of Chocowinity; two grandchildren: Kevin Scott Stancill and Crystal Elizabeth Ireland and fiancé Andy Woolard and a great grandchild: Rylee Woolard.

    In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests for memorial contributions to be made to the Dart Team, 1467 North White Post Rd., Pinetown, NC 27865.
