Mrs. Mary Helen Manning | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Mary Helen Manning, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, September 12, 2014.

    The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Waters and Rev. Rodney Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.

    Mrs. Manning, a native of Beaufort County, lived most of her life in the Pactolus community of Pitt County. She was a member of Snowd Branch Church of God.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Shorty" Manning; brothers, James, Josh, Johnny, and David Manning; sisters, Nettie Smith, Ruth Tyer, and Julia "Sissy" Roberson; and grandson, Timothy Silverthorne.

    She is survived by her: sons, Clifton Manning and wife, Virginia, of Washington and Levy L. Manning and wife, Linda, of Greenville; daughters, Mary Deloris M. Silverthorne and husband, Marvin, of Greenville and Linda Hardee and husband, Danny, of Washington; brother, Daniel Manning and wife, Dallas, of Grimesland; sister, Martha Conway of Walstonburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mary Deloris Silverthorne.
