    Mrs. Brenda Brooks Humphrey, age 71, a resident of 233 Clarendon Avenue, Bath died Thursday morning November 13, 2014 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday November 15, 2014 at Bayview Community Church officiated by Mavis West. Burial will follow in Bayview Community Cemetery. Zack Blake, Rod Godley, Eddie Mullen, Dakota Mullen, Johnathan Brooks and Brantley Tillman will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Humphrey was born in Beaufort County on January 3, 1943 daughter of the late John Thorne Brooks and Helen Pearl Kilby Brooks. She was a member of the 1961 graduating class of Bath High School. On October 14, 1961, she married Dwight Cretzer Humphrey who survives. Mrs. Humphrey was owner/operator of Brenda's Day Care in Plymouth, a member of the Red Hat Society and a member of the First Baptist Church in Plymouth.

    In addition to her husband, Dwight of the home, she is survived by her daughter: Jennifer H. Camusaranda of Corapeake, NC; her brothers: Ted Brooks of Edenton and Don Brooks of Bath; her sisters: Betty Everett of Pinetown, Jackie Mullen of Bath and Polly Gurganus of Monroe and two grandchildren: Roman and Ean Camusaranda. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Jimmy Brooks, Gerald Brooks, Calvin Brooks and Earl Brooks and her sisters: Helen Boyd and Audrey Schill.

    The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Friday November 14th at Bayview Community Church and other times at the home.
