Final Freeboot Friday and Game Day Shuttle | Eastern North Carolina Now

News Release:

    GREENVILLE, N.C.    Uptown Greenville is set to close-out the popular pre-football game celebration, Freeboot Friday, November 21, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the Five Points Plaza. Legendary jazz musicians, "The Monitors," will headline the event. Lead by Bill Myers, The Monitors are featured on the African American Music Trail. "Their super funky music is a great way to end a successful concert series", said Ryan Webb, Chair of Uptown Greenville's Events and Branding committee. In addition to great music, a variety of celebrities will be onsite. Coach Heather Macy and the ECU Women's Basketball team will meet and greet the crowd, while Homer and Bart Simpson, of the iconic Fox series "The Simpsons," will be onsite to shake hands and lead a tee shirt toss.

    Finally, Uptown Greenville is pleased to continue the free Game Day Shuttle service from the Uptown district to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The shuttle will run three hours prior, all throughout, and two hours post game on Saturday, November 22. Though tailgating is prohibited in the municipal parking lots, supporting Uptown businesses in encouraged. The Gameday Shuttle will stop at two locations in the Uptown district.
