Democrats to blame for rising energy prices - the New York example (from City Journal) | Eastern NC Now

The ideological climate crusade by Democrats is the biggest driver of rising energy costs, particularly of electricity.  It is the reason that electrical power costs more in most Democrat run states than in Republican run states.  Nationally, the Trump administration has reversed most of the Biden policies that had driven up energy costs, but there is still an impact in the Democrat run states from state policy, and even sometimes from establishment Republicans trying to follow Democrat policy.  In North Carolina, we can thank special interest whore Phil Berger for that.

The City Journal has an excellent article on a case in point, New York, and how its ideologically driven policies on climate alarmism have driven up energy costs for consumers, who now pay some of the highest energy costs in the country.  What Democrat politicians have done to their consumers is spelled out and it is not pretty.  Here is the article:

Meanwhile, New York's outrageous attempt to shake down energy companies for a $75 Billion "climate superfund" which would have raised energy prices for everyone across the country has been struck down by a federal judge after 22 states sued New York to stop it. That money grab was too much for even the Obama judge it came in front of.
