    Mrs. Lillie Mae Alligood Edwards, age 75, a resident of 918 E. 6th Street, Washington, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at her home.

    Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Pastor Travis Boyd.

    James Everett, Jeffery Everett, Frank Sheppard, Brandon Edwards, Kyle Edwards, and Justin Edwards will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Edwards was born in Beaufort County on March 18, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Oliver Eugene Alligood and Ada Catherine Woolard Alligood. Mrs. Edwards was the retired owner and operator of Ada's Upholstery. She was a past member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and current member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, Mrs. Edwards loved to read and loved to fish as long as her health permitted.

    Mrs. Edwards was married to Guy Lester Edwards, who preceded her in death, September 11, 2004.

    Mrs. Edwards is survived by two sons, Lester Earl Edwards of Greene County, Danny Ray Edwards and companion Melissa Parr of Washington; former daughter in law, Linda Sanderlin of Oahu, Hawaii; eight grandchildren, Brandon Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Justin Edwards, Melinda Edwards, Gennifer Edwards, David, Sabrina and Steven; nine great grandchildren; and many cousins and extended family members.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Earl Alligood.

    The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.
