News Release:

    Good Morning Everyone:

Please see attached PDF Weather Briefing created by the NWS for further information about this potential Nor'easter. I have also attached a copy of the Flash Flood Watch that was issued for Beaufort and surrounding Counties.

Any time after 3:00pm today we can expect the possibility of periods of heavy rain, however, after 6:00pm the chances increase to 100% of steady to heavy rainfall. This means we will experience the winds and heavy rains during the hours of darkness which increases driving weather related hazards. The good news is that the majority of the County Government employees will have already left work. First Responders and County employees that are working or could be responding to monitor the weather and please make them aware of the potential for high water and downed trees across roadways which requires good defensive driving procedures and actions for the weather we are expecting.

If you have any questions please feel free to call us. Remember when approaching high water on roadways: "Turn around, don't drown!". For an updated understanding of the inclement weather assured to hit our area, please use the links below: PDF for the notice, and the second advisory for the maps.

Latest Governing Beaufort County

The city council has only made two official acts as of February 16, 2026
While this afternoon’s update once again included increased probabilities of moderate to major impacts, it will likely be tomorrow before we receive specific accumulation details.
Government and its bureaucracy are not perfect, and never has been in this self-governed society, here at the local level, at our state level, and at our federal level, therefore, it is incumbent upon all elected politicians to seek a comfortable level of representation for our constituents.
Beaufort County is implementing a new emergency alert system. All residents are encouraged to sign up to receive alerts via phone and email.

Has the local government acted responsibly and transparently?
Beaufort County Commissioners meet, and work by a majority vote to do the business of those constituents they purport to represent.
Waste, fraud, abuse and incompetence continue to govern county school budgets and decision making.

However, if one believes that Beaufort County government is in full command of the issues of our times, here locally, one might need to steel their resolve for a more perfect understanding of the intellect possessed by the Center-Left /Left Coalition.
To borrow a big phrase from this salient plan originating at the federal level, under President Trump's watchful eye, whose time has finally arrived, even here in the mispent realm of Beaufort County government(s).
We must vet, and elect those who will actually represent the people or we will be stuck with the same mess we have now.
