    Mrs. Opal Lilley Rogerson, age 79, a resident of 2980 Wharton Station Road, Washington, went to be with the Lord, Monday, February 23, 2015.

    Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Washington Assembly of God in Washington, conducted by Pastor Stephen Evans. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Freddie Matkins, Robbie Cox, Andrew Arnold, Obed Brabble, Ottis Mills, Ray Lilley, Bradford Woolard and Jerry Woolard will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Rogerson was born in Beaufort County on February 21, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Lilley and Gertie Matkins Lilley. She was married to James Simon "J.S." Rogerson who preceded her in death in 2013. She retired from Stanadyne Corporation in Washington.

    Mrs. Rogerson is survived by her son Marky Rogerson and wife Essie of Washington, daughter Juanita Dunn and husband Tandy of Washington, and son Alton Rogerson and wife Sandee of Washington; grandchildren James and Joy Rogerson, Kevin and Kelly Rogerson, Travis and Mika Rogerson, Corey and Meredith Rogerson of Washington, Ashley Smith of Morrisville, Kasie and Daniel Babos of Jacksonville, and Brinley and Billy Tyson of Greenville; great-grandchildren Logan Dunn and Gage Smith of Morrisville; Parker Rogerson, Davis Rogerson, Mason Rogerson, Peyton Rogerson, McCray Rogerson and Stella Rogerson all of Washington, and Saylor Tyson of Greenville; two sisters Brenda Waters and husband Murray, and Meredith Woolard of Washington; and brother Manfred Lilley and wife Lila of Lakeland, Florida.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Washington Assembly of God and other times at her home.

    Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life of Beaufort County, Attn: Memorials, P.O. Box 2708, Washington, N.C. 27889.
